  • Maximum Age: 22 years old, or currently enrolled in high school, college, or an equivalent educational program.

  • Permission: Participants under age 18 must have a parent or guardian’s written consent

Benefits

  • Full Membership: Student Scholars sing as full performing members of the South Hills Chorale for one concert cycle (fall or spring), with the option to renew.
  • Tuition/Fees: No membership dues or music fees.
  • Mentorship: Each Student Scholar is paired with a Chorale section leader or experienced member for guidance and support.
  • Performance Experience: Student Scholars participate in all rehearsals and public performances.
  • Recognition: Participants are acknowledged in the concert program and may request a certificate of participation for academic or portfolio use.
  • A 50 percent rental fee for costumes is requested, and the costumes are to be returned to the Chorale upon termination of membership. Accessories are the student’s financial responsibility. Each student will be given tickets to sell but selling is not a requirement of membership. One complimentary ticket will be awarded for each $200 of income.
